What is it?

Parental Control helps give parents peace of mind over their children’s mobile usage by enabling control over SMS messages from unwanted mobile numbers, premium short codes and/or keywords

How does it work?

This Smart Service is activated by registering the mobile number of each child’s phone to a guardian or parent’s account. Once a parent has registered a child’s mobile phone account they can choose to activate any number of monitoring and control facilities such as using a simple black list command to block undesirable SMSs. The parent or child can access these features directly from their handsets.

In addition, parameters and controls can be set to help a child to take responsibility for their level of mobile usage and expenditure. Also high watermark alarms or warning messages enable parents to monitor and control their child’s phone usage. Parents can impose short periods of "study time" during which messages cannot be sent from or delivered to the child's handset, but stored for later delivery.

For further peace of mind, a breakdown of a child’s account transactions including in and out message volumes, can be appended to the parent’s own monthly bill or sent via text message every week or month.
