Shopping at Central Market

This place includes different sections to reflect the various influences and ethnic backgrounds present in Malaysia such as Malay, Indian, and Chinese areas selling local products like souvenirs and arts and crafts. On the upper floor there is also a food court selling local delicacies and the area in front of the market is known for street performers and musical shows. 2.5km away from convention centre. From convention centre, walk to KLCC LRT station, take Kelana Jaya Line toward Putra Heights direction and stop at Masjid Jamek station. (3 stops away from KLCC) . Walk about 500m will arrive to central market. Taxi is another option to consider as well.

Hutong Street Food

1km walking distance away from convention centre, or you can hail a taxi to Lot 10 shopping centre. Housed inside Lot 10 Mall, is said to be one of the best in the business. The food court is made up of local street vendors who were selected and asked to sell their dishes at Hutong and as such the food is authentic and delicious, and more importantly is all housed under one roof so you don’t have to go pounding the pavements in search of a feast. The food court is a great place for newcomers to Malaysian cuisine to visit as it features all of the most famous and moreish local dishes such as oyster omelets, fried noodles and noodles soups, dumplings, meatballs, and roasted meats.

Things To Do Near KLCC

Petronas Twin Towers tour

Set on Level 86 is Petronas Twin Towers’ observation deck, where visitors can get a closeup view of the tower’s spire as well as digital displays and exhibit of the tower’s history.   The double-decked Skybridge at the Petronas Twin Towers is one of its major draws as it offers amazing views of the city. A travel pass is required to enter the bridge, so make sure to get there early as queues can be long.

Atmosphere 360 Revolving Restaurant

Take in a 360-degree view of Kuala Lumpur with a sumptuous dinner, serving local and western cuisine at the revolving restaurant in one of the city’s tallest points.

The tower also has an observation deck that offers stunning views of the city. It is the highest point in the city that is open to the public and it takes fifty-four seconds for the lifts to ascend to the site.

Aquaria KLCC

Kuala Lumpur Aquarium is laid out to take visitors through different watery landscapes, from the highlands and flooded jungles of Malaysia, to the Amazon basin, coral reefs and the open ocean.  This elegant underwater world may seem a kid-centric attraction, thrill seekers are also well catered for – they can get-up-close-and-personal with tiger sharks, stingrays and more as the aquarium has a Diving with Sharks program.

KLCC Park

Spectacular ‘dancing’ water fountain in the 10,000sqm manmade Lake Symphony. Popular with kids, it can shoot water up to a height of 42m. These daily water shows occur at noon and in the evenings. A 1.3km-long jogging track is good for those who need a fresh workout after a long day.

Batu Caves(30 mins by taxi from KLCC), one of Kuala Lumpur’s most frequented tourist attractions, is a limestone hill comprising three major caves and a number of smaller ones. Located approximately 11 kilometres to the north of Kuala Lumpur, this 100-year-old temple features idols and statues erected inside the main caves and around it. Incorporated with interior limestone formations said to be around 400 million years old, the temple is considered an important religious landmark by Hindus.
